Cooking Class Japan is an independent guide to cooking classes, sushi workshops and food tours in Japan. We publish in eight languages because travellers from all over Europe and the Americas ask the same questions: which class is worth it, where, for how much, and what you will actually cook.
How we work
- Bookable classes only. We focus on classes you can reserve online, in English, with clear prices and free cancellation.
- Reviews read, not just counted. A 4.9 average on 2,000 reviews and a 5.0 on 3 reviews do not mean the same thing; we always show both the rating and the number of reviews.
- Monthly checks. Prices, ratings and availability change. We re-check the classes we recommend every month and remove those that disappear.
- Honest trade-offs. Every guide lists the downsides too: groups that are too big, « classes » that are mostly demonstrations, or areas that are inconvenient to reach.
How the site is financed
Some links on this site are affiliate links to GetYourGuide. If you book through them, we receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Schools and operators never pay to be listed, and the commission does not influence our ranking.
